Relating records and establishing a hierarchy within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools has always been challenging Typically, users meet two different scenarios:

  • The product has an established hierarchy (Accounts own Contacts, Contacts own Opportunities and Cases).

– Or –

  • The product does not allow for hierarchy, and the user relies on repeatable workflows with entry duplication, etc.

When contemplating using Kizen, consider that neither of the above exists out of the box nor HAS TO exist. The user certainly has the option to refer to creating one of those traditional hierarchies. Yet still, it lends to a possibility of a conventional workflow where data is lost amongst lack of transparency within relationships.

Within the Kizen platform, the user has the ability to start by creating one individual record at any level while ALSO creating primary, secondary, or multiple additional records. These records could  directly relate up (think Contact creating an Account) or down (think Contact/Account creating an Opportunity in a traditional sense). The user also has the option to progress in a linear pattern, as mentioned in the second scenario above.

The point being, there is no wrong direction or starting point, and there is no limit to how we, as users, can create and relate as many records as we need to within our workflow to maintain consistency in our platform.
